ABSTRACT

Work-life balance presents a significant challenge for policewomen due to their demanding jobs, characterized by irregular hours, exposure to violence, high stress, and physical and mental demands. These professional responsibilities intersect with domestic duties such as cooking, child-rearing, and caring for elderly family members. This research explores the complex challenges policewomen face in balancing work and personal life. The study was conducted in Delhi's Central District with ten participants, a qualitative approach was employed, using questionnaires and interviews. A purposive sampling was used for the selection of potential participants. The study revealed factors such as family size, childcare, unpredictable hours, and job rigidity contribute to dissatisfaction and conflict. Recommendations include increasing police staff especially women, supportive working conditions, timely promotions, and better leave and transfer policies to support work-life balance.
