ABSTRACT


Elder abuse is a pervasive and complex social issue that poses significant challenges to societies worldwide, including India. This paper examines the prevalence, dynamics, and responses to elder abuse within the Indian context, focusing on the role of criminal justice administrations in addressing this critical issue. Utilizing empirical research, legal frameworks, and policy analyses, the paper explores key dimensions of elder abuse, including its various forms, contributing factors, and impacts on victims. It also critically evaluates the effectiveness of existing legal and institutional mechanisms in preventing and responding to elder abuse, highlighting challenges and opportunities for improvement.
