Violence Against Women In India

Rachel Z Assumi, LLM, Royal Global University

ABSTRACT

While it is true that both men and women are subjected to human rights violations, the effects of these crimes plainly vary depending on the victim's sex. Studies on the topic show that every act of violence against women demonstrates one or more traits that serve as a foundation for its designation as gender-based violence.

Gender-based violence can take many different forms, and it can be categorised into one of the following groups depending on the kind of relationship in which it happens and the kind of power that is used: Among the problems that women face include rape, incest, acts of abuse at work or in schools, sexual harassment at work, sexual violence against women detained or convicted, trafficking in women, displaced women, and domestic violence are issues that needs to be addressed.

Keywords: gender-based violence, women, abuse, violations
