INTRODUCTION:
Ecommerce refers to the purchasing and selling of products or services through the internet as well as the exchange of funds and data necessary to complete such transactions.2The incredible innovation of smart phones and all the e-commerce service providers has now made the entire world accessible from the palm of our hands. Consumers no longer favour offline markets over internet markets when they want to buy products or use services. Our daily lives have grown devoted to such electronic transactions. Especially post pandemic, from getting groceries or food online to booking taxis for regular travel to even ordering expensive or extravagant products, everything is now possible online. Meanwhile, the rapid growth of the e transactions has also increased the need for stringent consumer protection laws.
The demonetization process in November 2016 and India's Digital India initiative in 2015 both strengthened the country's reliance on mobile wallets like Paytm, Google Pay, and others as an alternative payment method for e-transactions. Due to the COVID epidemic in 2019, people were compelled to use e-commerce to get basic goods and services, which increased the industry's overall development. Toilet paper and other necessities witnessed a significant increase of 231%, while Covid prevention-related products and services saw a jump of 807%, with the tendency dragging down overall internet growth in the economy.
