ABSTRACT
The current age is regarded as the digital or the internet age, where any facility is accessible on fingertips with a click. The internet has, undoubtedly, with its services, made the lives of humans easier. However, like every coin has two sides, same is the case with respect to internet too. Internet has proven to be highly beneficial to mankind, however, with the advent and increasing utilization of the Online Resources, the crime rate, commonly known as the cyber – crime rate, has also taken a rise. Various instances or cases can be witnessed across the globe, pertaining to cyber-crime of bank fraud, hacking of social media accounts, etc.
This Article broadly focuses on the types of cyber – crimes prevalent in India, along with the existing legislations to curb or prevent the rapid growth in the cyber – crime rates in the country and how these legislations also focus on protecting the human force against such heinous crimes. The current research also focuses on the need and importance to develop and upgrade the existing cyber laws in the country, in order to cater to the needs of the contemporarily emerging issues related to cyber – crime as well as Artificial Intelligence and therefore, protect the mankind from crimes that are likely to be committed by the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence.
