Unsecured Loans And The Way Forward

Shashanka Shekhar, Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies, Bangalore

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to throw light on the subject of unsecured loans and their prevailing evils in India. Since there is no collateral towards the loan the Banks have an obligation to recover the amount however the method employed by these banks are unethical and are affecting the consumers who also happen to be rightful citizens of India. There should be a legislation covering exclusively the unsecured loans since the RBI guidelines are not being taken seriously by Recovery Agents.
