Uniform Civil Code And Article 44 Of The Indian Constitution

Yasmin Sawhney, Symbiosis Law School, Noida

ABSTRACT

India's diverse society, which is full of many different cultures, faiths, and customs, aims to provide justice and equality to all of its people. However, this diversity has resulted in different personal laws for different religious groups, which frequently leads to differences in legal rights, especially when it comes to family affairs. Regarding private issues like marriage, divorce, inheritance, and property, the UCC aims to provide universal laws that apply to all citizens, regardless of their communal ties or religious affiliations. A qualitative methodology through secondary resources was used for a detailed analysis of the topic. Systematic research was used to analyze and gather information about the topic from various secondary resources. This research shows the legal challenges faced by the uniform civil code in India.
