Juvenile mental health is a critical aspect of public health, particularly in a diverse and populous country like India. The mental well-being of children and adolescents is influenced by various psychosocial factors, including family background, educational experiences, socio-economic status, and cultural expectations. These factors can either positively contribute to or detrimentally impact a young individual's mental health. Understanding these influences is essential to address the growing concerns related to juvenile mental health issues and their right to a healthy life. This research paper explores the psychosocial factors influencing juvenile mental health and the right to life in India. It delves into the complex interplay of socio- economic conditions, family dynamics, educational environment, and societal norms impacting the mental well-being of Indian youth. Utilizing data from national surveys, academic studies, and government reports, this paper highlights the significant challenges faced by juveniles in India. It also examines the legislative and policy frameworks in place, their effectiveness, and areas needing reform. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue and suggest actionable recommendations for improving juvenile mental health and safeguarding their right to life.
