Arushi Goyal, Manipal University Jaipur

INTRODUCTION

Gender is an inescapable feature in all parts of an individual's life. Socially and naturally sexual orientation is pre-decided into two classifications, Male or Female. Sexual orientation is an unmistakable classification that portrays specific human attributes. The most significant thing about gender is that its importance is made by society and individuals are expected to act and communicate in specific manners that are consistent with the socially pre-determined gender role related with their sex.

Transgender is a classification of individuals who are considered as being neither male nor female, like transsexual and inter-sex people. A transgender is also known by the name of Hijra, Kinar and Third Gender etc. This division of people into two genders happens upon entering the world, when sex assignment is male or female, such assignment is presumed to be permanent, the idea of sex and sexual orientation as an arrangement of two inverse and non-variable classifications of male and female; masculine and feminine is both presence of mind and mostly society. There cannot be any alternative to this view of sex and gender.
