Trafficking In Persons And Marriage: Interconnection Marriage Practices And Laws

ABSTRACT


Bride trafficking is considered a crime against humanity as it violates the victims' rights, dignity, and liberty. Accurate statistics on bride trafficking are challenging to obtain due to the difficulty of tracing individual Trafficked women face numerous atrocities, including rape in transit and subsequent rape by male family members. In addition, they are subjected to interpersonal abuse, mistreatment, and multiple trafficking attempts. Poverty, female feticide, infanticide, illiteracy, and other conditions can lead to trafficking. In Indian Forced marriages and Child marriage still prevailing that lead to a person marry someone they don’t want. Forced marriages and Child marriages are aggregated factor for bride trafficking by their own families.
