ABSTRACT

This paper is an attempt to shed light upon the question of research which is: Has the Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) failed in its capacity as an enforcer of corporate governance? The research question focuses on the incapacity of SEBI as an enforcer of corporate governance in India. It will analyze the various problems faced due to the weak enforcement mechanism of SEBI and will provide solutions that will help in bringing in a strong enforcement mechanism in India.
