ABSTRACT
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a new hallmark of good governance, focusing on corporate responsiveness and societal norms for a nation's economic growth and development. It is a way forward for eco- efficiency and social equity following the "Triple Bottom Line Approach," which maintains a balance between economic, environmental, and social imperatives. The purpose of this paper is to renounce the ideological meaning and provide concluding remarks on CSR's contribution to sustainability by conceptualising the various aspects of organisational performance. The paper also emphasised the legality of CSR and its effect as per mandated provisions for social progress and environmental protection. CSR has evolved into a tool in the modern era that adheres to legal requirements and strives to increase the productivity of social welfare activities. It is believed that the CSR initiative will strive to move the nation towards the achievement of sustainable development goals and a public- private partnership in transforming India.
Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability, and corporate governance.
