ABSTRACT
Trademark dilution legislation serves an essential function in safeguarding brand equity by curbing unlawful usage of renowned trademarks which could tarnish their distinctiveness or reputation. This research investigates how such legislation influences the fashion industry through notable legal cases showcasing mechanisms for protecting iconic brands from misuse. It examines both blurring and tarnishment forms of dilution across high-profile incidents involving luxury labels like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Tiffany & Co., demonstrating how these laws help preserve exclusivity and value within competitive marketplaces. By conducting this analysis, the study assesses the effectiveness of trademark protection measures incumbent upon distinctive branding and consumer loyalty cultivation while seeking equilibrium between trademark safeguarding and freedom of expression. The outcomes yield valuable perspectives on the evolving landscape of brand protection within modern commerce
