Introduction
In the complex web of international relations, conflicts and disputes are inevitable. Driven by different interests, values and priorities, countries often find themselves in complex disagreements that can escalate into crises with far-reaching consequences. As a strategic tool, diplomacy plays a key role in mitigating and resolving such disputes and is a key mechanism for promoting understanding, dialogue, and cooperation between countries.
The essence of diplomacy lies in its ability to resolve disputes through the art of peaceful negotiation, agreement building and compromise. This article explores the critical role of diplomacy in international dispute resolution through a case study that illustrates the practical application of diplomatic efforts in real life.
Diplomacy serves as a multifaceted instrument in international relations, encompassing various methods such as negotiation, mediation, and dialogue. Unlike military interventions or coercive measures, diplomacy seeks to find common ground and sustainable solutions through communication and understanding. It operates on the principles of respect for sovereignty, equality, and the pursuit of mutual interests.
The Rohingya crisis is a humanitarian and human rights disaster that erupted in Myanmar, mainly in the state of Rakhine, targeting the Rohingya Muslim minority.
