ABSTRACT
This paper investigates the legal implications of real-life society being supplemented by the digital world. The relationship between law and society has been extraordinary and dynamic for ages. The law itself evolves in response to societal growth and demand. We will live in a world where people are more engaged in their digital activities in the coming years. The first section of this paper focuses on the spread of the metaverse. Furthermore, it focuses on the societal impact of performing activities in a virtual space such as the metaverse and what kind of laws would be required for wrongdoing in this virtual platform. The paper raises some challenging questions as well as makes some recommendations. It would be interesting to see how well the law transforms itself in response to such a dynamic and massive shift in societal behaviour.
