ABSTRACT
The Israeli Palestinian conflict is a persistent and complex issue characterized by decades of violence, political conflict, and humanitarian crises. The study aims to explore five key aspects of the conflict. First, it examines the evolution of key issues from the pre-2005 era, characterized by the Israeli occupation and the Oslo Accords, to the post-2005 era, characterized by Israel's withdrawal from Gaza and Hamas' rise to power. Second, the study investigates the role and applicability of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), particularly the Geneva Conventions, in regulating the actions of state and non-state actors. Third, it analyzes the impact of technology on the conflict, including the use of advanced defense systems and offensive cyber and missile warfare. Fourth, the study examines documented violations of international humanitarian law by both parties and the response of international organizations, particularly the International Criminal Court (ICC). Finally, it assesses the prospects and challenges of prosecuting war crime suspects by the ICC, taking into account legal and political hurdles. The study highlights the need for robust accountability mechanisms, particularly ICC and international cooperation to mitigate the humanitarian impacts and achieve justice.
