Saptaparni Raha, LLM, Brainware University

ABSTRACT

This paper delves into the historical progression and transformation of legal education in response to technological advancements. It analyzes the influence of technology on legal education in both developed and developing nations. A concise assessment of legal technology is provided, followed by an examination of its expansion and importance. The paper also explores the challenges faced in incorporating technology into legal education, including cultural, structural, and leadership obstacles. The paper finds that legal education has effectively adapted to technological changes, although developing countries encounter difficulties in its implementation. Nevertheless, technology remains a crucial instructional tool in 21st-century legal education. (Marunga, 2010)The NEP 2020 is a significant step forward in the use of technology in legal education in India. However, there are still challenges to be overcome. For example, not all law schools have the resources to implement the NEP 2020 recommendations. Additionally, there is a need for more research on the impact of technology on legal education. Despite these challenges, the NEP 2020 is a positive step towards using technology to improve the quality of legal education in India. With the right resources and support, technology can help to make legal education more accessible, relevant, and effective. This paper also explores the implications of technology on legal education and its alignment with the commitment of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The NEP 2020 aims to modernize and transform the education system in India, promoting interdisciplinary learning and the integration of technology. (Anirudh, Govind,Anil,Radhesayam,V., 2022)
