ABSTRACT
The formation of religious law is the focus of this article, both historically and currently. This article discusses the most common world religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam, as well as how these ideologies affect laws in India and other nations. To further illuminate the theoretical and practical connections between religion and law, this article discusses the relationship between morality, law, and religion. This article also talks about the purpose of law, purpose of religion, effect of religion in the formation of laws of a land, how religion is one of the source of law and the relationship of religion, law and jurisprudence.
