ABSTRACT
The current war in Ukraine brings up important issues with regard to the underlying principles of international law. The effectiveness of the country ’s laws, the stability of the country, and the freedom to self-determination are the major concerns. Hybrid war and occupation standards are also being taken into account because the political turmoil has resulted in a military confrontation. Some claim that the present political climate has led to a deterioration of international legal norms and a wider exposure of the UN's shortcomings. International law offers the world community practical options for addressing not just the problems described but also many other issues, despite its flaws and restrictions.
