ABSTRACT

This research explores the significance of effective learning strategies for law students, emphasizing active techniques like metacognition, mnemonics etc. to enhance comprehension and retention. This research paper follows an empirical method of research. A survey was conducted in which 77 law students were asked questions to analyse the familiarity and effectiveness of learning strategies. It revealed varied awareness and utilization of these strategies, with notable benefits reported by those employing them. Discussion highlights the necessity for law students to adopt efficient learning methods, given the inadequacy of traditional approaches. Detailed examinations of metacognition, reflection, elaborative interrogation, and mnemonics illustrate their practical application and benefits for legal education. This research emphasizes the transformative potential of effective learning strategies in legal education and advocates for their widespread adoption to support student success in law school and beyond. Despite the proven effectiveness of these strategies, challenges persist due to students' unawareness and adherence to outdated methods. Recommendations urge law schools to integrate workshops and innovative teaching approaches to familiarize students with these strategies, fostering improved productivity, understanding, and academic performance in law studies.
