ABSTRACT

In every age the world’s strongest have come up with a stratagems or tactics to wipe-out their enemies, be it Genghis Khan who used trickery while being in wars, or be it our very own Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who embraced the tactics of guerilla warfare to wipe out Mughals from his region and lay down the comer-stone of the great Maratha Empire and these techniques have evolved with course of times whereby, we witness such evolutions in almost every age.

In the concurrent times we have resorted to the internet to create one such stratagem which we refer to as “Cyber-warfare” which is being used by many nations to run their campaigns and today, we can also witness the implementation of this strategy in a full-fledged war scenario I.e. the Russia- Ukraine War wherein we could purview the application of this concept to disrupt the pass of information and to spread falsified, altered information.

Under this article we are going to study about the arenas in which these battles could be fought I.e., the defense, IPR and the implementation vis-a- vis disruption of public policy of the nation. Moreover, we shall discuss the benefits of these stratagems over the traditional strategies of warfare while talking about the key differentiae between the two.
