ABSTRACT

Protection of Single Colour remains a grey area of Intellectual Property Rights. Numerous fashion brands, including Christian Louboutin with its distinctive red soles, have entangled themselves in legal battles for protecting the distinctive single colour This paper delves into the intriguing legal disputes faced by Christian Louboutin for protecting its red soles in USA, Japan and India. The analysis explores the trademark Act of these jurisdictions and examines the legalities faced by Louboutin in securing trademark for its iconic red soles. By highlighting the disparities in protecting single colour across different jurisdictions, the paper aims to shed light on the evolving landscape of single colour with a particular focus on the protection of the red soles of Christian Louboutin.
