ABSTRACT

This study presents a detailed and critical examination of the complex relationship between technology and its impact on the legal system. The rapid advancement of technology has significantly altered the way societies operate, and it is now clear that these changes have far-reaching consequences for the interpretation and enforcement of the law. This article commences by analysing the development of technology and its far-reaching impact on various facets of contemporary life. It delves into the realms of communication, surveillance, commerce, and social interactions, showcasing the influential role of cutting- edge technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and biometrics. However, it also brings to attention the intricacies and quandaries that these advancements present, which legal systems around the world are finding difficult to deal with in an effective manner. This critical analysis examines the legal implications of technology-driven phenomena, such as the digitalization of evidence, cybercrime, privacy concerns, and the erosion of traditional boundaries. It also considers the challenges of balancing the need for updated legal frameworks that can accommodate technological advancements, while minimizing the risk of infringement upon civil liberties.

The research aims to examine the role of governments and regulatory bodies in adapting to the rapidly evolving technology landscape, while striking a balance between innovation and the protection of individual rights. It evaluates various approaches taken by different jurisdictions to address the challenges posed by technology, such as algorithmic bias, autonomous weapons, and the ethical implications of surveillance.

The article also delves into the ethical and moral dilemmas arising from technology's interference with the law, scrutinizing the ethical considerations that should guide lawmakers and technologists in navigating this complex terrain. Furthermore, the research offers potential future scenarios where technology continues to disrupt legal norms and provides recommendations for policymakers, legal professionals, and technologists to collaboratively develop solutions that safeguard justice, accountability, and individual liberties in a rapidly digitizing world.
