Romil Aryan, Shweta Singh & Tripti Rani

ABSTRACT

Ethics seeks to resolve questions of human morality by defining concepts of good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, and justice and injustice. By guiding people's behavior, ethics makes a society peaceful, harmonious, and a better place to live. The link between law and ethics is obvious. Generally, the law is based on moral values such as goodness, honesty, justice, and fairness. Therefore, in its substance, the law has a moral nature. This article explores the ethics as conceptualised by Swami Vivekananda and the uniqueness of his approach, which was influenced by Indian philosophy. The article goes on to analyse other prominent theories of ethics and the swami Vivekananda’s response to those ethical principles.
