ABSTRACT
Women are considered to be a vulnerable group of this society. However, despite multiple protective instruments and rights secured for the women, they have long been victims of different crimes and sex-trafficking is not different to the same. Women are trafficked for a variety of reasons, specifically including prostitution and pornography. Different reports have suggested that thousands of women become the victim of trafficking every year from every corner of the country. There are multiple national as well as international legal instruments developed aiming at the protection of women from these forms of crimes and to safeguard the rights and security of women. However, the ineffective nature of these instruments resulted in the high number of sex-trafficking cases in India. Hence, this issue should be tackled by the government at the earliest aiming at the elimination of these crimes and provide a more secure society for the women. It is also to be taken into consideration that more or less every state of the country at present is affected with criminal and social lessons that specifically include human trafficking. The article under consideration is aimed at recognising the violation of fundamental rights as a suggested by the Indian Constitution for women concerning their safety and security from trafficking specifically focusing on sex-trafficking.
