ABSTRACT


The research paper titled "Role of DNA in Criminal Investigation" explores the transformative impact of DNA technology on forensic science and law enforcement. This comprehensive analysis delves into the unique properties of DNA, its role in individual identification, crime scene analysis, and the exoneration of the innocent. The paper highlights how DNA has revitalized cold case investigations, utilizing databases to link suspects and solve crimes. Furthermore, it discusses the application of DNA analysis in

establishing biological relationships and its emerging role in predictive forensic DNA phenotyping. The study underscores DNA's pivotal role in enhancing the accuracy of criminal investigations, contributing to the resolution of cases, the exoneration of the wrongly accused, and the overall pursuit of justice in the criminal justice system. The use of DNA analysis and the creation of a national DNA database for law enforcement were pioneered by England.
