ABSTRACT

This essay would like to focus on the right to privacy in a digitalized India and the effects it might have on the country's citizens, particularly in light of the fact that many Indians reside in geographically remote areas with limited access to modern technology, making it difficult to even get a phone signal, let alone an internet connection to use services like net banking, etc. It is crucial to remember that everyone in the nation may be affected by the right to privacy, which inevitably results in a variety of situations.

The goal of this essay is to examine the Right to Privacy and Data Protection Bill and determine how far it may be implemented. Additionally, it will contrast the draught 2018 legislation with the bills from 2019 and 2022. As a result, the paper's overall goal is to analyse the areas of data protection law in India, the gaps, and potential improvements for both current and prospective laws.

Keywords: The idea of Privacy, Online Privacy, Protection of Personal Data, Justice, Aadhaar ruling
