ABSTRACT
Palimony is a legal concept that refers to the right of a non-married partner to receive financial support or property rights from their former partner after a relationship has ended. In the United States, the right to palimony varies from state to state, and it is not recognized in every jurisdiction. The right to palimony typically arises in cases where a couple has lived together and established a relationship similar to marriage, but without actually getting married. If the relationship ends, the partner who has contributed financially or otherwise to the relationship may seek palimony as a form of compensation for the sacrifices they made. Several factors are considered when determining whether a partner is entitled to palimony, including the length and nature of the relationship, the extent to which each partner contributed to the relationship, and the financial needs and resources of each partner. This paper analyses the right to palimony in the USA
