Released Prisoners’ Predicament Of Resynthesis With Society

ABSTRACT

This article aims to talk about the need for efficacious rehabilitation facilities for released prisoners for their resynthesis with society. The article analyses the various challenges that ex- convicts have to face immediately after they are released from prison and how the currently existing rehabilitation policies lack in their aims, vision, and implementation. There are several drawbacks to these programmes which hinder the process of rehabilitation. The policies, programmes, and laws of other countries have been observed to take cues from, which could be implemented in the Indian context, to ensure that ex-convicts can be reintegrated into society taking care of all their physical, financial, and psychological needs. Finally, the authors attempt to suggest some calculated recommendations that can be productive and resourceful.
