“Justice delayed is justice denied”

ABSTRACT

This paper is a brief excursus on the most relevant novelties in the field of civil procedure. The recent law reform, well known as “Riforma Cartabia”, addressing judicial backlog has created uproar in the country. To address the enormity of arrears and adjournments, several procedural amendments have been introduced by Law n.206/2021 containing the delegation to the Government which later enacted the Legislative Decree n.149/2022. Law reform, financed by Europe through PNNR1 funds, aims to identify suitable measures for the quick redressal of citizen’s grievances with a view to secure expeditious and economical disposal of pending cases.
