Ransomware: Meaning, Types And Safety Measures

ABSTRACT

Technology has brought a revolutionary change in the world. In today’s scenario everyone is somehow or fully dependent on technology. Technology not only helps in performing task at a faster rate but also eases the process by providing efficiency to the task. Every single activity for being it sales, manufacturing, production, transportation, communication or exchanging of data and information is done with the help of technology. Technology has evolved over the time and with its evolution some negative impacts of technology has arisen. Technology has affected the security and privacy of the users with the invention of different types of viruses and malwares that affects the system of the users. In this research paper we will study about RANSOMWARE. This paper covers the introduction of ransomware in which we have discussed about the meaning, its history and evolution. We will see the types of ransomware. We will also study some of the famous ransomware attacks, the top targeted organizations and the legislations and laws made for the users to be protected from the impact of ransomware. We will study the safety measures and steps for protection and at last we will conclude by providing some recommendations to government regarding the ransomware attacks.
