Public Opinion On E-Commerce: Bane Or Boon

ABSTRACT:

The more busy the world; the more advantage for E- commerce growth. Odd working hours, hectic schedules and time constraints have changed how people shop these days. Even though the world has suffered due to pandemic, one thing has its way up. Everything is just one click away, from groceries to automobiles. What connects all the above? E- Commerce already bloomed the strategy of business to deliver consumer’s needs and the world’s fastest growing business model too. The main objective of the study is to know the amount of preference towards online shopping in the minds of the people. The researcher has followed the empirical research method using a convenient sampling method. The sample size of the study is 260. The dependent variables are preferred ways of doing shopping, reasons for shopping online, reasons for not shopping online, small retailers affected by E - commerce, E- commerce leads to monopoly and the independent variables are age, gender, occupation and educational qualification. The results observed from the study is that most people are aware about E- commerce positions in India. Here E commerce has become the preferred way of shopping for many people. However, there are certain factors to be considered like mindset about online shopping and level of awareness regarding E- commerce. The researcher concluded that E-commerce, even though it has demerits, E- commerce is the easiest way and everyone is well aware of it.
