ABSTRACT
Police interrogation have led to many false confessions in the past few years. Custodial violence essentially refers to torture to the extent of death to force out false confessions. It has been seen that the police go out of their way to force false confessions out of innocent people to make their job easier. This growing policy of using violence in order to make ends meet has proved to be grossly violative of basic human rights. It is not just the duty of the court to ensure justice but the police are also entitled to ensure that no innocent person is caught up in this tedious process, only then will complete justice be served. While people depend on the legal system for justice, they should not fall prey to the dark side of this system. This paper mainly focuses on the process and systems of police interrogation and how this process is being continuously broken time and again leading to the violation of the human rights of the innocent.
