Plight Of Women With Reference To Revenge Porn In India

ABSTRACT

This paper tries to make us understand about the crime of revenge porn and the vulnerable position of women in the Indian society when her pictures are distributed without her consent. The paper is divided into five parts. The first part of the paper deals with introduction of the revenge pornography. The second part of the paper deals with how non-consensual image-based crime affects the life of women. The third part of the paper deals with the legal remedies that a person can seek when her private image or video is published or shared without her consent. The fourth part of the paper deals with the provisions that are insufficient to deal with the crime of revenge pornography and what measures should be taken by the legislation to make proper legislation for revenge porn. The fifth part of the research paper deals with the conclusion and the suggestions given by the writer.
