ABSTRACT

Phishing is a type of cybercrime in which the attacker tricks the user into supplying sensitive and personal information. Credit card information, usernames and passwords, bank information, and so on might all be included. These phishing assaults take the form of fraudulent emails, text messages, and phone calls. The attacker might perform crimes such as financial losses and identity theft after getting the information. An individual, an organisation, or a cluster within an organisation might be the target. This document explains phishing assaults in order to raise awareness, as well as many strategies for dealing with them.

Keywords: phishing, whaling, anti-phishing techniques, pharming, deceptive and spear phishing.
