ABSTRACT


Bioprinting is the 3D printing of organs or tissues, which is the hope to resolving the shortage of organ transplantation. In today’s patent laws, patenting bioprinting does face few challenges. This article explores into the patentability of bioprinting of organs in US and India, the various challenges of patenting of bioprinting. This also delves into understanding what is bioprinting and the mechanisms of bioprinting and the usage of biomaterials. Bioprinting has the potential to become the alternate option for many for organ transplantation.
