ABSTRACT
The paper presents an in-depth analysis of the current legal framework surrounding the patentability of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. As AI technology rapidly evolves, it presents new challenges for patent law. The authors provide an overview of the existing legal framework for patentability and discuss its challenges and limitations regarding AI.
The paper highlights the implications of recent developments in AI and how they affect the patentability of machine learning algorithms. It also emphasises the importance of adapting patent systems to ensure they continue promoting innovation while protecting inventors' rights and the public interest. The authors argue that current patent laws must evolve to accommodate the unique characteristics of AI technology, including the fact that it can learn from its own experiences and generate new knowledge. Additionally, the paper examines the potential impact of AI on innovation and intellectual property and the ethical and social implications of AI patentability. The authors recommend that policymakers and patent offices address the challenges posed by AI patentability by updating the legal framework for patentability to be more inclusive of AI and ensure that inventors are adequately protected.
This paper provides valuable insights into the current state of AI patentability and offers recommendations to policymakers and patent offices on navigating this rapidly evolving field. As an archival research, it lays a foundation for future studies and discussions.
