Introduction about Eudaimonia
Aristotle pioneered the philosophy of “Eudaimonia” which means “happiness”. Etymologically, “Eu” means ‘well’ and “Daimon” means ‘divinity’ or ‘spirit’. The pursuit of a good life is a natural human endeavour. Eudaimonia is not a state or a static goal rather it is a set of activities (education, health, wealth) you do to live a good life. Deontologically, humans do not pursue these activities as an end goal in themselves rather as a means to live as eudaemons which is the end goal.
