Need For Reconceptualisation Of Human Rights In The Era Of Globalization

Nayan Lodha, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University

ABSTRACT

The article throws a light upon the positive as well as the negative impact of globalisation upon the human rights of an individual. A better understanding can only be achieved if we are aware of the history and evolution of human rights, therefore an attempt has been made by the author to briefly analyse the evolution of human rights and thereafter the article highlights the need for a reconceptualization of human rights and its universal aspect. The economic growth in the neo-liberalisation phase has made significant growth in the economic inequality and the same can be reduced only when we shift our focus from economic development to socio-political development.
