Meenakshy S Dev, Amity Law School, Noida

ABSTRACT

Sustainability issues are linked and are inseparable from their social and biophysical context. Finding governance responses to sustainability issues are even more complex. The main focus should be on the establishment of an effective legal regime which can support legal policies and measures and promotion of sustainable development. Since a lot of factors are connected with sustainability, governance gaps can emerge when responsible factors aren’t accurately assessed. This study focuses on the interdependency of environmental governance and sustainable development and also critically to evaluate the efforts of nations to achieve Agenda 2030. Through this a clear picture of what is lacking and whether there is room for improvement can be assessed.

Keywords: Sustainable development, environmental governance, environment, good governance.
