ABSTRACT


This research paper investigates the growing integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations within law firms' services, and the intricate relationship it shares with competition law. The study illuminates law firms' motivations for embracing ESG, emphasizing alignment with corporate responsibility and stakeholder expectations. It further examines the politicization of ESG and its influence on the advisory roles and strategies adopted by law firms. The paper also scrutinizes the regulatory frameworks guiding the involvement of law firms in ESG matters, and explores the collaborative efforts of Indian and international law firms with clients to navigate regulatory complexities and embed sustainable practices.
