ABSTRACT
This paper undertakes a comprehensive examination of mental health insurance within the complex framework of India's legislative structures and healthcare models. This analysis thoroughly examines the intricacies of this significant matter, employing a wide range of main legal sources and enhancing the discussion with opinions from secondary scholarly sources. This paper comprehensively examines the inherent inconsistencies, deficiencies, and holes that currently exist within the mental health insurance framework in India. The aforementioned statement highlights the significant discrepancies in the availability of mental healthcare services and emphasizes the pressing necessity to tackle these concerns. This study effectively emphasizes the urgent significance of the care gap while also delineating a distinct trajectory for implementing revolutionary legal and policy reforms. The objective is to establish a system that can deliver inclusive and equitable care to all individuals, irrespective of their mental health requirements. This research endeavors to enhance the ongoing discussion on mental health reform in India by addressing the current shortcomings and presenting practical remedies. Its objective is to stimulate tangible efforts that can effectively address the gaps and establish mental healthcare as an essential and readily available component of the nation's healthcare system.
