Managing Information Systems Integration In Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions

ABSTRACT

In practice, the terms mergers and acquisitions have distinct connotations. The deal is referred to as acquisition when a company takes over another company and plainly becomes the owner of the new business. The target company is legal from a legal standpoint. The targeting firm vanishes, and the buying firm "absorbs" it. The quantity of the stock of the buying firm will continue to be traded, while the shares of the acquired company will not. The company will vanish.

The dissertation shall start from defining what is known as Information system integration in mergers and acquisition and the purpose and knowledge about it, the dissertation shall work on the empirical cases, the paper shall also describe what is management of information system integration and elements of information system integration management and objectives of the information systems. The paper shall explain in brief about the mergers and acquisitions and shall define what is organizational integration in mergers and acquisitions, shall also look into a preliminary theoretical framework for information system integration in mergers and acquisitions and also differentiate the relationship between information system integration and mergers and acquisition system integrated in mergers and acquisitions. The dissertation explores the various aspects of the integration in mergers and acquisition. As the necessity for speed of reaction and information increases, the role of information systems in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) becomes particularly prominent. Mergers and acquisitions have the potential to disrupt the operations of the companies concerned. Major Personnel, business processes, and information systems must all be integrated. across the merging enterprises, and a variety of information technologies Those in positions of power the expenses and effort involved in combining computer systems are often underestimated or ignored. Unpleasant surprises will befall applications, infrastructure, and IT companies. If, on the other hand, the merger/acquisition and the resulting business were meticulously planned and managed integration. Despite the fact that M&A has a strong profile in the finance literature, little Integrated Systems research has looked at how different Enterprise Resource Planning systems might be integrated in the case of M&A. The dissertation is based on the doctrinal study and shall discuss about few mergers and acquisitions cases. The dissertation in an overall shall present about the integration of information system in corporate merger & acquisition. The paper shall give an overview about the topic and shall explain how does information system integration is used in the corporate merger and acquisitions and shall give an idea about the various systems involved in the corporate merger and acquisition.
