Life Of Transpersons During Covid Lockdown

Radha Sharan, Tata Institute of Social Sciences

ABSTRACT

The lockdown of COVID-19 was a hard time for everyone worldwide. While the nation was in a state of full lockdown, everyone suffered, but the suffering of the trans community was missed by many. A community that survives on the connection with the mass population of the country and public places was suddenly cut off the only source of income they had. The challenges faced by the community ranged from a lack of housing and food to a lack of separate medical facilities. Even after the community is protected by a special codification, the community continued to be discriminated against and forgotten during the COVID-19 pandemic.
