ABSTRACT
Due to numerous ongoing issues and processes, desertification has developed into a global threat that has been accelerating globally. Desertification affects the physical and cultural environment similar to other risks. The Central Arid Zone Research Institute in India has a place in the country’s terra firma development. CAZRI has a variety of goals, including researching the land, soil, water, vegetation, and resources of arid regions; determining the best use of water and land in terms of the ideal balance between cultivated plants/crops, animal production, and forest and pasture; and determining the amount of water received in the areas in terms of rainfall, condensation, and surface flow; and determining the ideal level of the soil. The UNCCD renders a platform for addressing those issues not only on a national level but also globally. India ratified the UNCCD on October 14, 1994, and it went into effect on March 17, 1997. The National Action Programme to Combat Desertification and Mitigate the Effects of Drought is one of the duties of all growing country Parties to the Convention accompanied by India. In July 1999, the High-Level Inter-Sectoral National Steering Committee (NSC), which serves as the National Focal Point of the implementation of the Convention, was established by the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
