ABSTRACT
AI in its being has its own boons and banes, challenges and loopholes, thus, its presence is unavoidable in the sector of labour governance as well. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has completely changed a lot of traditional processes, including labor relations. AI is present in many fields. AI technology is being used by employers more and more to better manage worker performance, allocate labor more efficiently, and expedite the hiring process. Machine learning algorithms and automated decision-making systems are two examples of these technologies. These technologies raise significant ethical and legal concerns in addition to increasing production and efficiency. The possibility that AI would exacerbate already-existing prejudice and discrimination in the workplace is one of the biggest legal concerns. Prejudices held by society can be reflected in and strengthened by the predictions and judgments made by AI systems using historical data. Understanding decision-making processes and accountability can be difficult due to the complexity and transparency of AI systems. Because of this, questions concerning openness and accountability have also been raised. Thus, it becomes important to examine questions like; What impact does AI have on decision making in HR departments? How does surveillance through AI impact privacy rights? How is AI replacing jobs and what effect does it have on the employees?
Keywords: AI, Labour governance, employers, hiring process, prejudices, surveillance etc.
