Law And Social Transformation - An Analysis

Ayushmaan Vashishth, Symbiosis Law School Pune

INTRODUCTION

For decades, jurists and the general public have attempted to understand the link between legal and social change in the context of the evolution of legal institutions. What exactly do we mean when we claim social transformation is taking place? In a literal sense, social change implies that more individuals engage in group activities and interactions in ways that they or their parents did not. As a result, societal transformation alters how individuals work and perceive the world. How they live, what they believe, how they work, and how they raise their children. Other change processes outside social change include technology, ideology, competitiveness, conflict, political and economic issues, and structural tensions.
