ABSTRACT:

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, enacted in 2012, is a pivotal piece of legislation aimed at safeguarding children against sexual abuse. However, the effectiveness of this law depends significantly on the level of awareness and understanding among young individuals, particularly secondary school students who are directly impacted by its provisions. This study investigates the knowledge and perception of the POCSO Act among secondary school students in the Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. Through a survey-based approach, data were collected from a diverse range of students across multiple schools in the region.
