ABSTRACT


Indian democracy is understood not only by its unique features that is written and lengthy Constitution but also the aspect of diversity finds in numerous legislations dealing with variety of subject matters. Though the aspect of diversity reflects the diversification in India’s culture and legal system but it lacks the element of uniformity when it comes to laws on marriage, divorce, succession, adoption etc. considering the aspect of personal laws. To cater this issue of having different laws on same subject matters, Uniform Civil Code gained its significance over the few years to cater this prevalent issue. The Author through its research work throws light upon constitutional provisions and judicial precedent which highlights how can bringing the UCC disregard the disparity existing on the abovementioned subject matters and the research work also showcases the vital and pro-active role of judiciary upholding the significance of UCC which would perhaps accomplish the dream of uniformity on these matters.
