Issues With National Commission For Schedule Caste

ABSTRACT

In India, we have social stratification in the form of Varna (caste system). In the caste system they ranked from the bhramins to our caste people. The out caste are scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, they are bottom of the caste system and also they faced lot of atrocities against them including untouchability, honour killing, not allowed in public places like temple, well etc. For the purpose of eradicating the problem against scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes and upheld the conditions of these communities.

First, The commission was setup for both scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes, later on 65th amendment, both commissions were separated. The commission has a constitutional body power to investigate the atrocities and problem against the schedule caste and scheduled Tribes. They act as the advisory body to the government for their upliftment. In this article, we explained the origin, constitution provisions, issues relating to this commission.
